The Data INtegration System for Eutrophication Assessment (INSEA) in coastal waters is a project aimed at the analysis of excessive plant growth in coastal regions, caused by water bodies receiving excessive nutrients (e.g. nitrogen, phosphorous) assessment of coastal related activities which combine models with satellite and in-situ measurements.

One of the main goals of INSEA is to facilitate greater use of satellite data by promoting the use of new tools and processing techniques. INSEA is also looking into the process of downscaling global models to finer resolution regional models by using fine-gridding techniques in conjunction with satellite observations. The INSEA potential users are water administration authorities, environmental protection authorities, wastewater management companies, water resources management companies and civil protection services.
