eSurge ready for User Review

The ESA Storm Surge demonstration project (eSurge) is coming to the end of its development phase. eSurge is making a wide variety of satellite and in situ data, including GlobWave data, available for a range of storm surge events.

Also of interest to GlobWave users is a new coastal altimetry processor, making water level and wave data available closer to the shore than previously possible.

A beta version of the eSurge database is now available through their website at www.storm-surge.info. The project team are requesting user feedback on this version before finalising it, and would be grateful for any comments that you have. To give your feedback, please either use the feedback form on the website or contact the project manager directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. A presentation on eSurge was given at the recent GlobWave User Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, and can be viewed here.

eSurge is funded through ESA's Data User Element (DUE) programme, and is undertaken by a project team of Logica (UK), NOC (UK), DMI (Denmark), CMRC (Ireland) and KNMI (Netherlands)
